Questions

Short answers about the device.

The notes below describe the Yenao Wallet itself: the chip, the screen, the phrase, and the studio that publishes them.

What is the Yenao Wallet?

It is a hardware wallet. The physical device is designed to hold the private keys for cryptocurrency and other crypto-based assets. The key is created on a chip inside the case, and each request is shown on the device screen before you confirm it.

Who publishes it?

Response Mine Interactive, LLC, at 1995 North Park Place, Suite 425, Atlanta, GA 30339. The phone is +1 (404) 233-9011. The public notebook for the device is yuenao.com.

Where is the private key created?

On the device. The security chip creates it during setup. The key is not typed in from a laptop and is not copied out for a browser to store.

What does the screen show?

During setup it shows the 24-word recovery phrase once. Later it shows the details of a request that arrived over the cable. Yenao draws that screen from the chip. A window on the computer is not a substitute for it.

What is the button for?

Holding the button is how you confirm that the screen matches what you expect. If it does not match, you do not hold the button, and the chip does not produce a signature.

How is the device powered?

From the USB-C cable. There is no battery to charge and no wireless radio to pair.

What if the device is lost?

The 24 words written on paper can restore the key onto a replacement Yenao Wallet. Those words should be stored apart from the device, and not in a photograph or a cloud note. The studio will never ask you to read the words out.

What is Yenao?

Yenao is this hardware wallet. The firmware on the device boots to the confirmation screen, reads the button, and keeps the signing step inside the chip.
